La Locanda La Posta® has developed a range of very high quality food and drink products following ancient recipes handed down from generation to generation of experienced chefs with a passion for their job.

Our philosophy for production is to search for taste and tradition while respecting nature.

This is why our expert chefs have prepared a whole range of gourmet dishes: grissini (bread sticks), fruit and vegetables in jars, sauces, cheese, salamis, extra jams, delicacies, sweets, wines, grappa, liqueurs. They are all very natural, with no added preservatives, colours or flavours, and rich in taste.
Locanda La Posta has been in existence since the beginning of the 17th century (1600 a.d.) when it was called "La Posta Reale" (The Regal Posta). In those days, in fact, royal coaches used to stop at the Locanda to let their important guests rest and savour the delicacies of the chef, while the tired horses were changed.

In 1804, Mr Vassalli, an Italian abbot and very important scientist, came to Cavour with the new instrument he had invented to measure the height of the Rocca hill, which is very close to the Locanda. He left memories of his stay on several books, preciously kept in a library in Luxembourg, where he wrote he had measured la Rocca from a room at the second floor of La Posta®. During the centuries, the Genovesio family has given hospitaliy to many famous characters from the field of politics, economics and entertainment.

Let's remember for example the statesman who favoured the unity of Italy, the Count of Cavour, the first prime Minister of united Italy, Giovanni Giolitti, her Royal Highness, Queen Paola Ruffo di Calabria, famous writers such as Edmondo De Amicis, journalists, actors and actresses, and so on. After the Second World War, the Genovesios have been organizing the renowned International Big Persons Meeting. Every two years, this uncommon event gathers big men and women, from all over the world. They come to Cavour not only to run for the title of Miss and Mister World Big but also especially to savour a typical Piedmontese cuisine and meet with friends in a relaxed and traditional atmosphere.

The traditional recipes of Piedmontese cuisine, handed down from generation to generation since 1600 within the family Genovesio, reflect with harmony the classic flavors of regional cooking, gently married with classic flavors of traditional cuisine. The search for naturalness in the tradition drives us to choose for our own recipes only the best ingredients, the most fresh and healthy, less processed, in order to give back to everyday life the ancient and genuine flavors, forgotten by the most. Similarly, our experienced chefs do not use any additive to preserve, except the natural ones such as olive oil, vinegar, lemon and salt. Our creations reflect, hence, with love the wealth of historical traditions, local and regional, and respect the culinary diversity of individuals, bringing directly to your home from our kitchen, from the chef and from the pastry, special recipes and products packaged and ready to be used, with all the care and love of the good things of the past.
